Quizzies Bar Trivia

Quizzies Bar Trivia

Quizzies is going strong Greeley Avenue Bar & Grill! If you haven’t participated yet, here are a few details of how it works.

Players choose a group to play with and then select a team name. The trivia game has four separate rounds, each round increasing in difficulty. There’s a “help line” in case your team needs some additional assistance who are actually the bartenders!

Roy Smallwood, the host of Quizzy, brings in the crowd with his trivia questions and larger than life sense of humor. He asks the questions over the microphone, you chat about the answer, and then it’s written on the score card. After each round, the teams will turn the answers in to receive a grade.

You’ll never know what category a question will come from so here are a few areas to know your facts:

  • Music
  • Film history
  • Geography

Don’t miss a great night to bring your friends, meet new ones, grab some drinks and food and have a fun filled evening. It’s  every Wednesday beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Oregon Ducks travel to California to play against Stanford November 7th. Will the Ducks continue their streak of winning and stomp them? Stanford has also done well this season. This might turn into a well matched, hard hitting game!

The Beavers will travel to Arizona, but not til the 16th of November. So stay tuned for more information and what time the game will play at Greeley.

Greeley has some great beers on tap including:

  • Believer
  • Chasin’ Freshies
  • Country Boy IPA

Believer, brewed by Ninkasi Brewing in Eugene, Oregon offers a 6.9% AVB and IBU of 60. This beer pours a clear blood orange and a smell of resiny hops and a bready rye. The flavor is bitter with a red beer spicy accent. A good dose of sweetened malts, some bits of tea hops and a cinnamon like finish. Medium bodied with reserved carb and a bit of a dry finish.

Other teams that are kicking butt include the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs. Although, the Broncos lost their undefeated position also against the Colts last Sunday, they are utilizing Peyton Manning and seeing huge gains overalll.  It’s been a while since the Chiefs have done well, but their proving themselves so far this season. Greeley Avenue Bar and Grill Gives Back

One of the continual things that sets Greeley Avenue Bar & Grill apart from the rest is their continual involvement with the community.

Last year Jon and Rainer hosted an event at Greeley Avenue Bar & Grill called “Chief Joseph Parents and Friends Night Out”.  And, not only did they host this fun-filled evening, but they donated fifty percent of the night’s proceeds to the PTA. What did this mean exactly? Chief Joseph Elementary raised funds to hire additional staff.

This year Greeley Avenue Bar & Grill is working with Paula Harkin and the event “Pints to Paska 10K”. Paula gave the bar a shout out on Facebook saying ” Our thanks to Greeley Ave Bar & Grill for allowing Pints to Paskta 10K to stage at their location. We appreciate your community involvement and support.”

If you’re interested in more information concerning the Pints to Pasta 10K visit the website.

The Giant Spider Invasion Playing at Greeley Grindhouse

GiantspiderinvasionIf there’s a favorite time at Greeley Avenue Bar & Grill it’s during Quizzies and the Greeley Grindhouse.

Quizzies continues the fun each Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. with Roy’s great sense of humor and trivia questions. So team on up, use your help line (the Greeley Bar & Grill staff) and win the game!

Greeley Grindhouse will show “The Giant Spider Invasion” on Thursday, July 18th at 8:00 PM. This creepy crawly movie will keep you on your toes as spiders invade.

This low-budget 1975 film focuses on giant spiders that terrorize the town of Merrill, Wisconsin and the surrounding area. Starring Alan Hale Jr. (The Skipper from Gilligan’s Island), this movie revolves around a  spider invasion which occurs when what appears to be a meteorite crashes down in rural Wisconsin. It then spawns spiders of different sizes. The invasion, the result of an inter-dimensional gateway, is thwarted when Dr. Vance and Dr. Langer struggle, but manage to close off the gateway. This drains the spiders of their energy and causes them to melt into puddles of disgusting sludge.

The iconic theatrical poster art was a throwback to the giant monster movies of the 1950’s. The film received a considerable run and became one of the fifty top grossing films of that year. After a three-time ABC television network run, the movie achieved additional exposure several years later when it was featured in a 1997 episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K). It’s now regarded as a cult classic in the B film realm.

Mark your calendars and join Greeley and the movie mogul, Mac Bell, as he entertains everyone with Smack TV once again.

Have a great week, and we’ll see ya there!
